Independent front and rear suspension provides a smooth ride and better traction. You can improve traction in deep sand or snow with a touch of a button. Payload capacity for the 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility is 880 pounds. When properly equipped, you'll be able to tow a maximum of 5,000 pounds. The Police Interceptor can travel through 10-inches of water at 40 mph and 18-inches of water at 15 mph.
Interior
The interior of the Police Interceptor Utility is designed to make your job easier. A universal equipment top tray and front console mounting plate are standard. A 4.2-inch color LCD screen is included in the instrument cluster and center stack. An 11-inch space between the front seats allows for the storage of aftermarket consoles and equipment. Also standard are four remappable steering wheel-mounted switches, hands-free Bluetooth, a built-in Ford modem, and a rear-view camera with washer. Ford's heavy-duty vinyl flooring allows for easy cleanup. A high-capacity cooling system ensures you stay cool and comfortable no matter what the day brings.
An optional on-demand rear camera allows you to see behind the vehicle at the push of a button, even when you are not in reverse. The optional Police Perimeter Alert can notify you of potential threats outside of the vehicle using the blind-spot sensors.
Safety Features
The 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility is designed with your safety in mind. Every Police Interceptor is equipped with a suite of air bags including side-curtain air bags and rollover sensors. Roll stability control is standard. The Police Interceptor Utility is structurally reinforced and can withstand a 75 mph rear-impact collision.
All Police Interceptor Utility vehicles are equipped with Ford's SOS post-crash alert system. After a collision, the SOS system will honk the horn and flash the lights repeatedly to draw attention to the disabled vehicle.
